Create a Mystery Number Monster
Each student will take a worksheet on which a 4-digit number is written and a blank
monster outline or a space is given.
They have to draw the Mystery Number Monster using the clues given below.
• thousands Place: The digit in the thousands place determines the number of
EyES.
• hundreds Place: The digit in the hundreds place determines the number of ArMS.
• tens Place: The digit in the tens place determines the number of LEgS.
• ones Place: The digit in the ones place determines the number of horNS.
• If the sum of all the digits is an even number, the monster is green. If it's an odd
number, the monster is purple.
• If the digit in the hundreds place is greater than 5, the monster has a long tongue.
If it is less than 5, it has a short tongue.
For example, let us use the number 5,742 for our monster:
